Holding a pub quiz on an off day at a pub is one the best ways of drawing in the crowds. Each quiz has its own unique set of rules and formats that can be changed by the creator of the quiz. A little testing the intelligence was never unwarranted even if it is paired with a fine glass of ale.
Format of the Quiz:
Live trivia, table quizzes, are other names of pub quizzes and are often held as weekly events and generally advertise before hand. They are also mostly held in the evening when people are off from work.
The formats vary from pub to pub they mostly require you to write your answers on paper in response to questions which might be written or will be announced by the quizmaster.
Usually the bartender or the quizmaster hands out the paper and pens which might have the questions or they might be blank in order to write the answers. Many pubs expect the answer paper to be split into two as record of the answer.
Teams for the Game:
The teams depend upon the quizzers and are generally based on the table though if there are too many people at a table then it can be spilt up into more teams. Some pubs insist on a minimum number and a maximum number of team members so that everyone is on an even playing ground. The team members can name the team which is often a funny name or pun and this is mentioned on every answer sheet.
Rounds:
There may be more than one round going up to half dozen rounds of questions which leaves you with around 10 to 80 questions. Some of the rounds can be:
• General Knowledge
• Sport
• Entertainment
• True or False
• Picture Round
• Who Am I?
• Music Round
• Puzzle Round
• Novelty Rounds
• Bonus Round
